How Drawings Work

We want families and supporters to understand exactly how entries, drawings, and prize eligibility work for Flag Fest 2026.

Winner Selection

How a winner is chosen

Before a basket drawing begins, that basket is frozen so no additional entries can be added during the draw.

A winner is then selected from the active entries assigned to that basket. On the server, the system builds the frozen eligible-entry list and uses a cryptographically secure random integer to choose one position from that list.

Each eligible entry in the frozen set has an equal chance to be selected. The reveal shown during the event is a presentation layer; the actual winner is determined first from that frozen list and then displayed.

Once a result is locked, the winning family is notified and the basket is closed.

Fairness Rules

How duplicate winners are prevented

We use this approach so more members of the community can experience the joy of winning and so the event celebrates a wider group of families and supporters.

Rule
What it means
One basket winner per person
When someone wins a basket, their other active entries are removed from eligibility across the rest of the basket drawings so a different winner can be selected for each drawing.
Other baskets too
That same winner's active entries in the remaining regular baskets are also made ineligible so the event produces different basket winners.
Grand prize rollover
Only non-winning regular entries move into the grand prize drawing. A winning basket entry does not roll forward, and a grand prize winner cannot keep winning future grand prize redraws.
Limited Entries

Why entry availability is capped

Flag Fest uses a limited number of paid entries because Oregon raffle fundraisers are subject to legal requirements and limits on how funds may be raised.

The capped entry pool is part of keeping the fundraiser aligned with those Oregon raffle limitations while still running a clear, fair drawing process.

When supporters begin checkout, entries may be temporarily held for a short period so two people cannot buy the same final entries at the same time.

If a checkout is not completed in time, those held entries are released back into availability.

Prize Images

Prize image disclaimer

Prize images are used to best represent the actual prizes included in each basket. Specific brands, colors, packaging, or presentation details may vary slightly from the images shown while still matching the intended basket items.

We update basket titles, descriptions, and images as prize details are finalized, but display images should be treated as representative references rather than a product-by-product guarantee of exact packaging or photography. These images may include product photos provided by the sellers' websites.

If you have any questions about the specifics of a basket or any items included in it, please use the Help page and we will answer your questions as soon as possible.

We want supporters to have a clear understanding of what each basket is intended to include before making their selections.

Additional Notes

Other important details

Winners do not need to be present at the event to win. Winners are contacted after results are locked using the contact information associated with the winning player or supporter record.

If any entries remain unassigned when basket assignments close, those entries may be placed into open baskets before the drawings begin.

Draw results are considered final once a result is locked in the event system.

Team leaderboard standings are for entertainment purposes only and are shown as rank only, not as official fundraising totals.

Winners of gift cards will be required to sign and date a document confirming they received the gift cards for compliance purposes.
